I am an artist who lives in northwest Connecticut. I photograph landscape and nature in color and black and white. I use digital and darkroom methods to show what I see and to express the emotions I experience from my subject matter.

I have been an abstract painter for thirteen years. I am inspired by nature, color and light. I try to express what I see and to use paint and canvas to demonstrate the emotions which nature and life have on me.

I taught photography and video at Northwestern CT Community College for 32 years. When I took early retirement my goal was to paint seriously and to use the medium of painting to create in a different and more personal way than I had previously. I still photograph every morning, but after converting a spare bedroom into a painting studio, 4 years ago I moved into a 400 square foot studio in a reconverted factory. It's big enough for me by providing more room to work and allowing me to step back and study what what I have done.

For me, art is an affirmation of life, and painting and photography are the media I use to express that belief.
